Project Description
Toilet Handover Program
In joint collaboration between the Rotary Club of Jawalakhel Manjushree, Rotary District 3292, and Mahalaxmi Bikas Bank Limited, a WASH (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene) project was implemented on Monday, 1st Asar 2083 B.S., at Shree Bal Sudhar Basic School located in Ward No. 4, Basbari, Dakshinkali Municipality.
Under this project, toilet facilities were constructed for 38 male students and 40 female students studying at the school. The facilities were formally handed over after the completion of 2 toilets with handwashing basins for girls, and 1 toilet, 3 urinal pots, and 1 handwashing basin for boys.
The program was attended by the Ward Chairperson of Ward No. 4, the school Principal and teachers, Rotarian Amit Giri (President for 2028/29, Rotary District 3292), Assistant Governor (AG) Rotarian Manju Thapa Dhamala, Club President Rotarian Dibya Thapa, Secretary Rara Sharma, former presidents Sonila Shah, Nagesh Basnet, and Namrata Giri, as well as members Prerana Bhatt, Subodh Gautam, and Milan Lama, President of Saja Abhiyan, among others.
As part of the program, alongside the handover of the toilets, students were also provided training on proper handwashing practices, which was conducted by Rotarian Sonila Shah.
